Volunteer

Make it possible! Your presence will encourage other siblings to join too.

Be a Part of Sibling Society

Whether you’re helping run an event, mentoring a sibling one-on-one, creating content, or supporting us behind the scenes, every volunteer plays a meaningful role in building a stronger community for siblings.

Volunteers are expected to commit a minimum of 5 hours per month, with at least 6 months of involvement (*individual roles may vary in time commitment). We welcome high school students ages 16 and above to join our team, volunteer hours will be provided.

We need your compassion, initiative, and a willingness to make a difference!

Available Volunteering Positions

If you have experienced supporting a sibling through cancer or serious illness, you can make a meaningful difference by connecting one-on-one with a sibling in the same boat undergoing the same thing right now. Peer mentors offer understanding, encouragement, and a safe space for siblings to feel heard by someone who truly understands what they’re going through.

Social Media
Coordinator

Help us grow a supportive and engaging online community! Volunteers may create posts, graphics, videos, or campaign contents across our social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook to amplify siblings’ voices and expand our impact. This role is perfect for students interested in content creation, design, communications, advocacy, or digital media.

Help siblings and families access the support they need by researching and compiling helpful resources, programs, articles, and opportunities. Volunteers in this role help us build accessible, reliable, and sibling-centered resource collections for families navigating childhood illness.

Blog Content Writer

Sibling Society regularly posts blogs on our website, advertising for our new events and documenting our journey. We have also been posting regular “Sibling Storytime” books about supporting our siblings as they grow up. This role welcomes writers to show off their creative skills while making an impact.

Our website needs regular maintenance! The content you are seeing right now often needs to be updated and refinements need to be made now and then. If you have experience in website building, this is the perfect role for you. If you are just getting started, this is a great way to get used to a web-development software with no coding skills required. All of the maintenance will be done on WordPress, our website editor, and training will be provided.

Illustrator

Illustrators help bring Sibling Society’s stories and resources to life through engaging visuals. From creating artwork for our resource guides and event promotions to illustrating our “Sibling Storytime” children books, volunteers in this role use their creativity to make our content more welcoming and accessible. This role is perfect for artists who want to combine creativity with meaningful advocacy and storytelling.

Note: This role requires volunteers to have access to digital art softwares, and use of generative AI is stricly prohibited.

Support us during our in-person fundraisers by volunteering! You will be focused on but not limited to: leading various games, taking photos and videos, selling items at our craft shop, and more. This is a great way to show your interpersonal skills and connect with others. If you love helping people, this is the position for you!
