This past Sunday, Sibling Society hosted its very first in-person community outreach event at Coronation Park in Oakville.
We are excited to share that the day was very successful! Not only were we able to raise awareness about the often-overlooked experiences of siblings of children with serious illnesses, but we also raised valuable funds to support future events and programs.
Throughout the day, our team had the opportunity to meet many wonderful members of the community. We handed out free gifts, introduced people to our organization, and invited them to follow us on Instagram to stay connected with our work.
To help visitors learn more about Sibling Society, we also created and distributed brochures explaining our mission, the challenges siblings often face, and the ways people can support our cause.
One of the most rewarding parts of the event was seeing how interested and supportive people were. Many families stopped by our stand, and we were especially happy to meet so many children.
By speaking with young people and families, we were able to start important conversations about the experiences of siblings of sick children. Building awareness among younger generations helps create a more understanding and compassionate community, and we are grateful for every conversation we had.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, listened to our story, followed our journey, or made a donation. Your support means so much to our team and helps us continue our mission of supporting siblings who often feel unseen during a difficult time in their family’s lives.
Our first pop-up event showed us the power of community support and encouraged us to continue expanding our impact. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity we experienced throughout the day.
This is only the beginning. We look forward to hosting more outreach events in the future and connecting with even more members of our community. Stay tuned for announcements about our next pop-up—we can’t wait to see you there!
