Sibling Storytime- Kaka's Best Friend

Written by Sylvia

Welcome to another Sibling Storytime! We hope you loved reading our previous story about Kaka the crocodile and his friends: Kaka’s Loose Tooth. Here’s a peek behind the scenes of how this one came together.

We wanted to capture a feeling almost every kid knows: watching your friends pair off into “best friends” and wondering where that leaves you. So we gave Kaka that exact worry, and let him work through trials, errors, and a few honest conversations.

At the end, Kaka realizes that friendship isn’t always about liking the same things. It’s about finding what you do share in common, even if it takes some searching.

We hope Kaka and Tata’s story reminds siblings everywhere that friendship doesn’t need a matching interest to start. Sometimes it just needs a little patience and the right afternoon on a floatie.

A special thanks to our volunteer illustrator Trudy for bringing this story to life! And for all of you reading this, maybe it's time to reconnect with that childhood best friend of yours 😉
