What is Sibling Society?
Sibling Society is a student-led organization dedicated to fostering a community and promoting sibling involvement to improve the well-being of pediatric patients and their families. With our motto, “Linked by Love, Joined by Stories,” we believe that sibling bonds play a crucial role in supporting families through every aspect of treatment.
Where does Sibling Society come from?
Sibling Society originates from the real-life experience of the founder, whose younger sister was diagnosed with Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Throughout the treatment process, the founder meticulously cared for and fully supported her sister, and also found out the mutual encouragement and care between the sick children and their siblings. She realized the invisible power of sibling bond: it provides emotional strength, fosters resilience, and creates a supportive environment crucial for the well-being of sick children. She hopes that these emotional bonds and mutual support can be established among a larger group of people and a broader social network, thereby promoting more attention to the pediatric community
